§ 54-172. Notification of proposed rate increase.

  • (a)

    A cable operator shall provide written notice to a subscriber of any increase in the price to be charged for the basic service tier or associated equipment at least 30 days before any proposed increase is effective. The notice shall include a provision stating that protests to such prices may be filed with the city at P.O. Box 517, McKinney, Texas 75069. The notice shall also include a statement that such protests must be filed with the city no later than 30 days after the notice is received by the subscriber.

    (b)

    In addition to the notice required in subsection (a) of this section, the cable operator shall give the city a minimum of 30 days' advance written notification of any change in rates for cable programming service or associated equipment.
