§ 70-149. Purpose.

This article is adopted pursuant to Chapter 1956 of the Texas Occupations Code, authorizing the city to establish license requirements and regulations, that are more stringent than state laws, and to promote, through regulation of secondary metals recyclers, the recovery of stolen property. This article provides licensing and recordkeeping requirements and enforcement procedures that will enable the city police department to identify and recover public and private property composed of certain metals that may have been illegally appropriated.
