§ 81-46. Supplemental death benefits.

The city hereby elects to participate in the supplemental death benefits fund of the Texas Municipal Retirement System beginning on January 1, 1980, following written notification to the system of the adoption of this section, for the purpose of providing in-service death benefits in the amounts and on the terms provided for in V.T.C.A., Government Code §§ 854.601—854.605, 855.314 and 855.502, for each of the city's employees who are members of said system. The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to notify the director of the system of the adoption of this section and of the participation of the city in said fund.
