Prior to applying for a preliminary-final plat or preliminary-final replat, the subdivider
should consult with the director of planning, the fire marshal, and the director of
engineering or their duly authorized representatives concerning the ultimate land
use of the proposed development, the most advantageous subdivision plan, the suitability
of the location of the proposed subdivision, the arrangement of streets, alleys, and
lots, the layout of utility lines and availability of service from trunk mains and
other regulations and policies of the city regarding development.
